How to Increase Traffic to Your Blog
Are you pouring your heart into your blog and still not getting any traffic?
It’s frustrating when you take time to produce quality content and it doesn’t get any views. It can feel like you are wasting your time. After all, a blog that isn’t getting any traffic can’t be good for business. If no one is visiting your blog, how are you going to generate sales? Creating high-quality content is a great way to get visitors to your site, but you need more than that to bring in large amounts of traffic.
Here are a few ways to increase traffic to your blog
Don’t post on all social media
It’s best to pick 2 or 3 social media sites, at the most, to focus on. Trying to post on all social media tends to water down your content and reduce engagement. You need time to comment, like and interact with your audience. Narrowing down your focus to Facebook and Pinterest, for example, will allow you to build an organic audience. Always pick quality over quantity.
Find out how to solve a problem
It’s great that you want to post about your pet and what you ate for lunch, but not very many people care about it. You need to be creating content around how to solve a problem for people. Find out what people are searching for on Google and create a solution to help them out. Your business should be focused on helping your audience fix a problem. This could be through teaching, coaching, tutorials or videos. Traffic will come to your blog if you are creating insanely useful content.
Create interesting headlines
If your blog post doesn’t have an interesting headline, it’s not going to get clicked. If your content is quality, your headline needs to reflect that and bring people in. Great headlines can ask a question, create curiosity or generate emotion. Just make sure the headline isn’t clickbait; your headline needs to let the reader know what your content is about.
Optimize your blog post
When people are reading your content they should come across cross-links. These are different words or phrases that are linked to other articles you have written on your website. This keeps the visitor on your website longer, where they can find out more about what you have to offer. In addition, try adding related articles to the bottom of your post; often a visitor will have a different question that you could help them with in another article.
Engage your audience
People love to feel like their opinion matters, so let your audience speak. Don’t be afraid to ask their opinion, have them comment and engage with your content. Having your audience interact with you will help you find out exactly what they need and also helps boost social media views. Encourage your audience to share a story or tell a time that they experienced a problem by creating social media content they can interact with. Share a funny meme, create a poll, or ask them questions because it builds trust with your company and increases your content getting shared.
Keep these tips in mind when you are creating your content and your blog traffic will increase. Creating organic traffic takes time and patience but by being consistent and engaging with your audience, your blog will get more views.
